The Storms Came, But Only The Promises Remained

As winter twirled into spring, there were tornadoes in the physical and in the spiritual. Just like a physical tornado, a spiritual tornado often comes suddenly and can feel very disorienting when destruction takes place.
Our journey was met with a tornado of warfare, and during that storm, there was debris flying everywhere. While we were still at the Airbnb apartment in downtown Chicago, the Lord had prepared me with promises of what He would do and an assurance that I would have the victory of promises fulfilled.
Before leaving the Airbnb apartment in the city, the Lord swept in with the first fulfillment of promise, with financial support for the hotel where He would be taking us. With eyes on the victory of promise, we left the one bedroom apartment in the south loop of downtown Chicago, and went to the hotel that the Lord had revealed.
We stayed for about a month in that hotel located in a beautiful suburb, and it was a wonderful stay with a full kitchen and super comfy beds. I spent the month exercising my faith to align with God’s promise of what He would do and make it my identity and truth.
He had promised to take us back to a sky-rise Airbnb, and He said that it would feel like royalty. Before leaving, the Lord had prepared me for the onslaught of storms that would come against our promises, and He told me to trust in His promises, and not the wind that would be opposing the promised outcome.
When it was time to leave the hotel, I expected that God would come through with the promised support to secure an Airbnb apartment downtown. However, the spiritual weather was contrary to the promises, and the winds were coming against us with a fury.
The events that God promised would happen did not show up…at least not then. Instead, it was like we were thrust into a tornado of opposition with no way to survive. I didn’t know how we would eat, or where we would sleep.
In the natural, there appeared to be no evidence of any support, and yet I continued to ponder on God’s promises of a victory, and His instructions to trust His words, and not how things looked.
We finally had hit a dead end, and there appeared to be no way to survive. Everything looked and seemed the opposite of what God promised, and my head was spinning with the swirls of confusion.
Even though it truly seemed like there was no way out of this trouble, I continued to go inward and see my life identified by the Lord’s promise for me and this journey. While we were sitting helpless in the car waiting for God to move, I received just enough of a donation to get us a super cheap hotel room for the night.
From the wind-blown parking lot of opposition, we drove over to the dirtiest hotel room I had ever seen. It was so heartbreaking, and I was in disbelief that the Lord would allow us to come here, because He had been encouraging me to let go of the low times of before ….including the times when we stayed there before. He promised a new beginning.
Nevertheless, I was very thankful to have refuge, and a place to rest. I was trying not to think about how confused I was by how things were going, and to be grateful for the Lord’s rescue, even if it was only for one night…
We were not even there for an hour when we received a surprise blessing to go to a clean, comfortable, and very nice hotel. The Lord lifted us out of the dirty, gross hotel room, and we never even stayed one night there!
Instead, we were given a whole week at a gorgeous hotel that had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was such a happy moment, and the beginning of the fulfilled prophecy that God had made me.
He had promised that we would be double blessed for the attacks against our promises. As we enjoyed the comforts from the Lord during that week, I spent my time abiding in God’s love, and His promise for us to go to the Airbnb downtown.
The Lord kept promising ‘double, double’, and ‘castle, castle’. Castle is what He referred to as the sky-scraper Airbnb, because it is like being in a castle in the clouds. We were only a couple of days into the surprise week at the double bedroom hotel, when the Lord came through with the victory that He promised.
From the low lands of the suburb hotels, God honored His promise and swept us up into a 2 bedroom Airbnb in the glittering downtown heights of Chicago. The Lord gave us a month-long stay at an $8000 luxury Airbnb apartment that stands 54 floors high in the sky, like a tall castle.
When we arrived, we were in for another double surprise, just as God promised…double!
There were not only double the bedrooms, but there were double the bathrooms! Just like the castle that God promised, I felt like I had been served the royal treatment from God. He honored His promise and we were given the victory outcome of being lifted back into the clouds.
While we were at the hotel, there was a tornado warning at a nearby suburb, and the sky looked wild and out of control. The clouds were moving like dancers across a stage, and the wind was blowing fiercely. I had to keep telling myself that even though things feel out of control, God is in control.
There were back to back days of storms, and even after we arrived into the security of God’s promises, the storms were still blowing strongly against me. I woke up this morning in an Airbnb apartment to find out that the YouTube that I had spent 3 years building with the Lord was hit by an unexpected attack, like a tornado.
On YouTube, I had thousands of the Love Letters of Promise from God and my account was suspended because of them. Even though it was like an unexpected wave coming from the side, the one thing I have learned on this journey is when one door closes, a new one will open. We are never abandoned with God as our Captain.
After spending time talking to God about my distress from the storm against YouTube, He encouraged me to start new. Sometimes the storm that tries to hurt us, will actually be used to clear the path for something new ….taking us into our destined calling.
I spent hours early in the morning deleting every love letter recording off of the page, leaving a bare open space for God to rebuild and make the page even better. He assured me that this re-branding would be far better than anything I had before.
I was led to leave the faith testimonies on the page, and to create a podcast that will be a tremendous help to others interested in seeing victorious results by faith. The podcast is called, “Make it Rain” and it is coming very soon. 🙂
The thing is, nothing happens to us when we are in God’s care, but everything happens for us. Even the storms will be used to bless and prosper us, when we will believe from a perspective of faith-filled optimism.
When a storm comes against the promises that God has made, it can be severely disorientating. The key to seeing victory is to abide in God’s love filled promise no matter what, and do not give up based on how things look.
They will always look the opposite just before the promises are fulfilled. So hang on to the promise when the winds blow against your circumstances, because the wind will pass and only love will remain.
Stay anchored in your identity with what God said, and see yourself in the outcome that was promised. That is like putting down an unmovable anchor. If you identity with only what God promised as the truth for your life, then the storms will fade away, leaving the outcomes of promised victory.
The tornado’s against us were intercepted by God’s promise, like a double rainbow illuminating the dark clouds. We are meant to go through storms, as our faith is proved pure. It makes us stronger, and builds our confidence and trust in the Lord
When the winds beat upon the house, it will not fall away, because it was built on the rock of God’s words. The storms are a blessing in disguise, because they will take away all that is not true in our lives.
The truth is determined in what we believe….we have a choice…a blessing or a curse. We get to keep whatever we identify with. So do not look to the winds that blow with fury to bring trouble and destruction, but look to what God promised as your invisible protection.
If you are determined to believe in the blessing, then no storm can ever blow that away. God’s promises are the blessings, and the blessings will remain. Believe that you have received, and it will be yours. That is how you enter the victory of a fulfilled promise. You make it your identity and then it can never be taken away.
As the icing on the cake, the storms and attacks cause us to receive double blessings. If God has allowed an attack against your promise, then you can expect to receive twice more than expected. No weapon formed against you will ever prosper, it will only cause you to become more successful.
I love you!
