Journey Update: About the Car

For those who are following along with the journey that God has taken us on, this is just a little update on where we are now. Back in July 2023, God woke me up one morning and told me to follow Him to another state, with barely any money–yet a rich promise of His covering to keep us safe and supplied.
He said that this would be the “book” for the end of this story and that we would finally see the other side of our promised rainbow of a permanent home of our own. We have traveled all around, and God has yet to drop us or let us down.
Just recently, God had transitioned us into a different Airbnb, in a huge city, where I don’t know a thing. It has been such a challenge to stay focused on my promises from God while being so far out of my comfort zone. But it feels so refreshing to lay my heart upon Jesus and practice entering into that all-abandoned trust. Even now, more than ever before.
About a week ago, I woke up to find that my car was stolen overnight. Apparently my kind of car has been a target for thieves. Now…if we were at a home, it wouldn’t be such a major deal. I would just use other forms of transportation. But we are traveling and have all of our dependence and trust on God’s promise to hold us up. Also, God showed me that we are making our way back “home”. So a vehicle is a serious need for us.
Being such a big city, I wasn’t sure if I would ever see it again. But I had promises from God that I had been holding onto for dear life about Him being our home and car, and food, and all other support. We had many belongings in the car, because we have been traveling as a temporary “home”.
God has cared for us so gently through it all, and even gave me a temporary rental car to use for the time while I was waiting for my car to be recovered. I didn’t expect to ever see anything that was left in the car, even if it was returned. But I had hope that God would protect our belongings.
Yesterday I was notified that the police found my car and I went to look at it today, where it was being held. It does need repairs before I can drive it, and it has already been towed to the mechanic. I will have to come up with the $1000 deductible to repair the car, but I am leaning upon God’s promise for that as well.
The most surprising part is that everything that we left in the car was still there! Minus one thing…my daughter’s digital piano that she loves. She taught herself how to play piano many years back, and it is her art…she plays so beautiful that it brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.
God told me to let the injustice of all of this to run off of my back, and trust Him to have the last laugh. So that is the current page of the story, and the rest is yet to be told. I will share bits and pieces as we move along, for those we are following the story. This was a happy rescue after all!
Love,
Dannette
