Leading Me Home

A few nights ago, the Lord spoke to me and said that He would help us find our way back home. Then, He showed me this really steep place that I would have to get through, and it was very dangerous looking.

I told God that I cannot do it because it was too scary. But then God put His hands on my steering wheel, and He said, “I will help you”.

We are still in the same Airbnb in the city of Chicago, and about a month ago, I had my car stolen. Eventually, I got it back, and I have been desperately awaiting God’s help to get us out of this area.

God sometimes has us go through discomforts and hardships, so that we can experience His power and protection. This morning, I was going to go to the store to get us some breakfast and when I went out to my car, I found out that the catalytic converter had been stolen. The neighbors had theirs stolen last month.

If God was not leading us through this narrow path, I would be in utter despair and unable to carry on. Yet, God has shown me (through His promise) how this story will end.

That is how His promises are. He shows us the happy ending, but then we have to use faith and trust to get through the scary middle. Just like Psalm 23, His promises are the hope and the help for us to get home.

Jesus is the Shepherd, the comforter and protection of our needs. I will follow Him as He takes us to the pleasant pastures of this promised relief.

I love you, Dannette

The Eternal is my shepherd, He cares for me always.

He provides me rest in rich, green fields
    beside streams of refreshing water.
    He soothes my fears;

He makes me whole again,
    steering me off worn, hard paths
    to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name.

Even in the unending shadows of death’s darkness,
    I am not overcome by fear.
Because You are with me in those dark moments,
    near with Your protection and guidance,
    I am comforted.

You spread out a table before me,
    provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies;
You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil,
    filling my cup again and again with Your grace.

Certainly Your faithful protection and loving provision will pursue me
    where I go, always, everywhere.
I will always be with the Eternal,
    in Your house forever.
